Church Team Mobilization Guide

THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN BRINGING A TEAM TO SERVE AT LIGHTHOUSE RETREAT!

 

MISSION TEAMS | Serving at a Lighthouse retreat provides individuals and families (children 4+) an opportunity to serve and share the hope of Jesus with families walking through childhood cancer. A church can host an entire retreat on their own (36 adults) or bring a smaller team to join with other volunteers for the week.

LOGISTICS | Lighthouse provides all logistics, lodging, food, retreat programing and pre- retreat training and fundraising resources. We also offer an online registration and fundraising system that we provide at no additional cost. Our goal is to take care of as many details of mobilizing people as possible, so the team leader can focus on recruiting and preparing their team.

 

COST | Teams raise support for all retreat costs; including team expenses as well as expenses of retreat guest families living with childhood cancer. This includes all lodging, meals, drinks, team leadership, training resources for volunteers and retreat families, supplies for serving retreat families, program costs and T-shirts for all participants.

It does not include travel expenses to and from retreat, 2 on-your-own-meals during the retreat, and $25 of optional ‘Favorite Things’ gift items for the family you serve.

 

FUNDRAISING MINIMUMS

• These are the minimum amounts that must be raised or personally provided in order to attend the retreat.

• $1500 per adult, $500 per child (17 and under)

 

FUNDRAISING GOALS

• These are the goals we ask you to aim for in order to help with the overall cost of the retreat.

• $2000/individual, $5000/family

 

DEPOSIT | $250 per family/individual reserves your group space on retreat

TEAM LEADERS | We ask each group to have a team leader from the church to be the point person for recruiting, training the team and communication with Lighthouse staff. Lighthouse will provide retreat leadership to help with pre-retreat training and lead on site during the retreat.

DATES | Spring Break, Summer Retreats (June and July), Fall Break
